MapTrack changelog

Verified product updates, source-checked company notes and corrections that stay visible when the record changes.

The latest public entry and every correction must pass the same evidence gate.

How this changelog is kept honest

Release source
Product notes need a traceable source before they appear here.
Bounded scope
Each note describes the checked change, not a broader product promise.
Visible corrections
If an old claim can't be substantiated, we say what changed and when.

Verified updates and corrections

Dates marked Released come from the checked product release source. Company notes use their public announcement date.

September 2026

  1. Released

    Improvement

Custom forms are easier to complete on mobile

Custom form submission now uses a mobile-first layout for field work, with section progress, larger tap targets for single-select and yes or no questions, and simpler page navigation. Drafts, signatures and attachments also have more reliable save, restore and offline-upload recovery. This update applies to entering and editing submissions.

    • Clear section progress and simpler page navigation
    • Larger tap targets for common field responses
    • More reliable drafts, signatures and attachments
    • Offline-upload recovery for interrupted submissions

  2. Released

    New feature

    Automatic asset naming rules

Account owners can now create an opt-in naming rule from category, tag and selected custom field values. The setup includes a live preview, custom dividers and a bulk update for existing assets. Existing descriptions remain compatible, and the feature stays off until an owner enables it.

    • Build names from category, tag and custom field values
    • Preview the result before saving
    • Apply the same rule to existing assets
    • Keep or restrict manually entered descriptions

  3. Released

    Improvement

Accessory quantities tracked through assignment and return

When an asset has accessories recorded against it, the assignment flow can now capture how many are taken and reconcile that count on return. Taking more than the recorded quantity shows a warning instead of blocking the handover, while a short return requires a reason, including Lost. Adding ad-hoc accessories remains available only where enabled.

August 2026

  1. Released

    Fix

    More reliable asset picture uploads

A manual asset picture upload now reports success only after the file is stored, then refreshes the asset record so the image is available in the app. If the asset has no primary picture, MapTrack fills the gap automatically without replacing an existing valid primary picture. Browse, drag-and-drop and camera capture remain available.

  2. Released

    Improvement

Maintenance warnings no longer stop a safe checkout

If an asset has overdue preventive maintenance or a task already in progress, MapTrack now warns the person checking it out instead of blocking the assignment. The acknowledgement is recorded in the activity log. Unusable asset states and confirmed reservation conflicts still block checkout unless a permitted owner override applies.

  3. Corrected

    Correction

Changelog correction: ten historical notes withdrawn

Ten older release notes first published on 26 March 2026 were withdrawn on 23 August 2026 because we couldn't verify their release dates, version numbers and feature details.

  4. Released

    Fix

Large PDF previews no longer crash on mobile

Previewing a large PDF on a phone could run the browser out of memory and close the tab. Previews are now rendered a page at a time, and show the same loading indicator as the rest of the app while they open.

  5. Released

    New feature

    Maintenance service board

Maintenance now opens on a service board showing one row per asset, with current, next and last service together in the same view. Search and filters understand schedules, columns are configurable and resizable, and filtering and sorting happen server-side. Record Service, linked locations and work orders are all reachable from the row.

    • One row per asset, with current, next and last service in view
    • Schedule-aware search and filtering
    • Configurable, resizable columns and server-side sorting
    • Record Service, locations and work orders from the row

  6. Released

    Improvement

    Notes on individual request lines

Reservation requests can carry a note per line, on both specific assets and category requests, for the details a category cannot express on its own such as a three-phase spec or including the wheel kit. Booking conflicts are now shown one consistent way across the request flow instead of as stacked chips.

  7. Released

    Improvement

One Record Service flow, with meter readings captured at the service date

Recording maintenance used to be spread across schedule rows, asset actions and scan flows. It is now one guided Record Service workflow reachable from all three. Meter readings are captured against the date the service happened, and backdating a service no longer shifts the live next-due cycle unless you choose to.

Changelog questions

We publish a changelog entry after a customer-facing update is released and its scope is checked against a traceable release source. Smaller fixes may ship without a separate entry.

MapTrack is an installable web app, not a separate App Store or Google Play download. Reload your supported browser or reopen the installed web app to use the current release.

On 23 August 2026 we removed ten older notes because we couldn't verify their release dates, version numbers or feature details against a release source. We kept the correction visible instead of silently rewriting the history.

A changelog entry records a verified public update. It doesn't promise that every capability is enabled or configured in every workspace. Check the current product guidance or contact MapTrack support about your rollout.

Email support@maptrack.com with the workflow you want to improve. We'll confirm whether it's supported now, configurable for your rollout or a feature request.
